I’ve been told by an officer that, if you’re not careful, the spray can be just as dangerous for you as for the offender. If the wind is blowing the wrong direction for example, you could get hit with it instead. The officer also told me it’s extremely dangerous using it while inside a vehicle, especially if the AC or heater is running. He said if you’re sitting in the vehicle and the offender is outside, and you spray through the window, that the spray can blow back in. There just aren’t enough self-defense options, especially for women and the disabled.
